Meet the AEM Team
Andrew McArthur
Owner and founder of Andy’s Engine & Mechanical Limited. Andy has an extensive knowledge of all things mechanical and hydraulic. Born and bred in Otago, Andy is a qualified Aeronautical Engineer. Originally working with aircraft on the Taieri, he moved down south to begin his agriculture career on a farm in Wyndham. An opportunity arrived for working in the Maniototo and he made the move up here in 2011. From here he started his new business AEM Limited in 2017 and has operated from the current site in Mitchell Street since 2019. Andy’s roll is machinery technician, mainly field work and operates the largest truck in our fleet.
Andrew McDougall (Dougall)
Dougall is a recent addition to Andy's Engine & Mechanics team, starting in 2023 as the General Manager. Born and bred in Otago, with a background in automotive retail and automotive workshops. Dougall enjoys time spent in Naseby where his families batch has been since 2005. He is a father of a young child and enjoys catching up with people all over Otago and participating in recreational options that this area provides.
Mark McAuley
Mark is our head engineer on site and field work. Born and bred in the Maniototo, Mark has been with AEM Limited since 2019. Mark is a busy family man with two young children and enjoys all things recreational, including his kid’s sports. Mark comes with 29 years of knowledge regarding hydraulics and all things engineering related. He pilots our hydraulic hose truck and ready to service hydraulics on site and around the Maniototo.
Dave Cromb
Dave is our sole tyre technician. He has worked at the same site for 8 years and for AEM Limited since 2019. Dave is very much a community man, he’s tried his hand at everything within the Maniototo, from saw milling, farming and even teaching. There is nothing Dave can’t do! He enjoys weekends on hunting trips, karate in his spare time and looking after his Granddaughter.
Joseph Paguio
Joseph is a recent addition to our engineering division. Born and bred in the Philippines. He has spent the past 17 years working on heavy machinery in Saudi Arabia. He comes with a wealth of engineering knowledge, he has gained over the 7 years he has specialised in engineering work. Joseph value’s time spent with family, attending church and supporting his two children back home in the Philippines.
Hannah McAtamney
Hannah has been our lead automotive mechanic and WOF technician since joining the AEM team 2019. She has a 15-year background as an automotive technician and has worked at the current site for 8 years. Hannah is born and bred in Maniototo and is a busy Mother to her two young girls. She enjoys participating in the Maniototo Squash Team on a weekly basis.
Simon Crutchley
Simon is our field technician, specialising in machinery repairs through the wider Maniototo. Simon comes to us with 8 years as a qualified service technician and over 12 years in the industry. Simon was born in Balclutha and grew up in the Maniototo, he is returning after being away in the Queenstown Lakes for a period of time. Simon is looking forward to returning to his home turf in 2023, where he enjoys motorbike riding, hunting and snowboarding.
